(WTXL) — Florida's electric cooperatives are getting ready for hurricane season.
On Wednesday, Talquin Electric Cooperative, Suwannee Valley Electric cooperative, and several others got together to talk preparedness.
They shared recommendations and disaster resources and talked about their plans for when hurricanes do strike.
"During an outage situation when members and customers lose their power, we want to be able to communicate with them buy any means possible, so reaching out to the media and being able to have those discussions with them and update them on our process and what we're doing to get our members power restored is extremely important," said Kaitlynn Culpepper, with Tri-County Electric Cooperative.
Hurricane season runs through November 30.
