LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Out of the 15 dogs who were rescued after being forced to fight in a dog fighting ring in Gadsden County, ten of those dogs have now found permanent homes.

The five dogs who are left, need a forever home.

Lisa Glunt with the Leon County Humane Society was with the dogs every step in their recovery process and says its been hard so far due to the stigma that surrounds animals who come from fighting rings.

" We knew taking on these dogs and taking on the number that we was starting with 15 we knew it would be a project and we knew most of these dogs to stay in our program a little longer I just encourage people to remind themselves that these are the victims these dogs have no choice with being neglected," said Glunt.

All of the dogs who are still up for adoption are from the ages of five-to-seven months old and are being trained by the Humane Society everyday.
