TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Eating healthy over the summer is an important factor for mental and physical development of a child.
A lot of times families are on the go traveling, which makes it hard to plan out healthy meals. As a parent, it's important to take the time to make sure your child is getting the proper nutrition they need to stay healthy.
One doctor in our area told us the importance of doing so.
"Nutrition is important all of the time. It's easy to eat out of boredom in the summer and eat snacks that aren't so healthy. Paying attention to eating healthy during this time will help us eat healthier during the year," said Dr. Sarah Alvarez.
Dr. Alvarez recommends you have fresh cut fruits ready to go in the fridge, and extra water for when you take your child outside.
