LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. — A caller claiming to be a family member is asking people to send him Best Buy gift cards in a recent scam in Liberty County.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office said they have had a report of another scam being received by residents.
LCSO said the caller claims to be a family member who has been in an accident and needs you to send two $2,000 Best Buy gift cards to an attorney to pay for court costs.
LCSO stated there are several variations to this scam with the common factor being gift card payments.
They are telling people to please be aware that if anyone requests that you pay them in gift cards, they are not legitimate.
