Deputies: Teens broke into vehicles, robbed victim at gunpoint when confronted

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says three teens have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery and burglary on Silver Lake Road last week.

On Thursday, March 12, deputies responded to the 2200 block of Silver Lake Road after getting a report about breaking into vehicles in the area.

Around 11:30 a.m., a victim reporting seeing a teenage boy inside of a car that was parked in the person’s yard. The victim yelled and approached the teen, spotting another teen boy acting as a lookout.

The victim told deputies he ran after the teen and saw a teen girl was also running with the two boys. The victim then chased after the teens in his car and stopped the teen girl, blocking her with his vehicle.

While the person was blocking the area with his, one of the teen boys came out of the woods, threatened with a handgun and stole the victim's cell phone and wallet. The three teen then ran away from the area.

Later in the evening, LCSO deputies found and arrested all three juveniles to the Juvenile Assessment Center. Two of the teens are 17 and the other is 16.

ABC 27 is choosing not to identify the juvenile suspects at this time.
