FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. — Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested after they were showing off a gun on Snapchat.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office arrested the two teens on Thursday afternoon.

FCSO said the juveniles were using Snapchat to show off the weapon and smoking an unknown substance as well.

FCSO stated even though the incident was not on school grounds, with school starting on Monday, the social media incident was taken extremely seriously.

The two male juveniles are being held in Tallahassee at the Department for Juvenile Justice.

They are being charged with possession of a firearm unlawfully by minor, weapon offense-improper exhibit firearm or dangerous weapon and dealing in stolen property.

FCSO said they place the highest priority on the safety of the children and community.
