WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Three adults and a juvenile have been arrested in connection to a shooting and brutal armed home invasion in Crawfordville.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office says that on Feb. 5, four armed suspects fired five gunshots into the front door of a Crawfordville home. Afterward, the suspects kicked in the door, pistol whipped an adult woman and stole items from inside the home.

The adult female inside the home called WCSO while hiding from the suspects during the home invasion robbery.

Deputies responded, but the suspects had fled the area prior to their arrival. CID Detectives and a CID Crime Scene Technician responded to the scene and the investigation was assigned to CID Detectives.

An investigation revealed that two women and a child were inside the home during the break in. Both women were in the master bedroom when the front door was shot through and kicked in.

The victims told investigators that a female suspect came through the front door first, came into the master bedroom, ordered one of the victims to the ground, grabbed her and began to hit her in the head and face with the handgun, asking where the money was located.

According to the victims, the suspect asked the victim several times where the other female resident was, and asked the victim if she wanted to get shot.

The victims told investigators that a man then came into the bedroom and yelled "let’s go." The victim said the female suspect then pressed the gun firmly to her head, got off the floor and kicked her in the face prior to leaving the home.

Through thorough investigation, detectives determined that 21-year-old Alexus Shanneal Horttor, 18-year-old Tristen Clifton Wiggins, 19-year-old Rawn Ricardo Brooks, and a 17-year-old juvenile boy had committed the home invasion.

All four were taken into custody on Feb. 20.

During an interrogation, investigators learned that the group traveled in two cars to an area near the victims’ home. They parked one car there and drove the other to the victims' home. Deputies say Wiggins was wearing a wig and the others were wearing bandannas over their faces.

When they arrived, the 17-year-old boy shot into the front door. The group then kicked in the door and went inside the home.

That's when deputies say Horttor found one of the victims and pistol whipped her while Wiggins, Brooks and the 17-year-old boy went to the other side of the home. Deputies say at least one of the male assailants entered the child’s bedroom, but didn't harm the child.

The suspects then stole items from the home before the male juvenile went into the master bedroom to tell Hortter to stop.

Wakulla County detectives eventually searched Hortter and the juvenile boy's home and found the guns, wig and bandannas used during the home invasion.

Based on the evidence, the four suspects were arrested. They are facing the following charges:

  • Tristen Wiggins was charged with criminal mischief, burglary of a dwelling with assault/battery, burglary of a dwelling armed, and robbery with a firearm.
  • Rawn Brooks was charged with criminal mischief, burglary of a dwelling with assault/battery, burglary of a dwelling armed, and robbery with a firearm.
  • Alexus Horttor was charged with criminal mischief, burglary of a dwelling with assault/battery, burglary of a dwelling armed, and robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery.
  • The 17-year-old juvenile boy was charged with criminal mischief, burglary of a dwelling with assault/battery, burglary of a dwelling armed, and robbery with a firearm and firing a deadly weapon/missile into a dwelling.
