Deputies: One person dead after shooting, crash in Gadsden County

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Authorities say one person is dead after a shooting incident ended in a crash late Sunday night in Gadsden County.

The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office say the crash happened on 267 North near Bradley Road on Sunday.

Witnesses told deputies that two vehicles were traveling south bound on 267 North at a high rate of speed.

They went on to explain that they heard gunshots after seeing the vehicles.

After hearing gunshots, deputies say one vehicle then left roadway and crashed into a wooded area.

The other vehicle fled scene.

Deputies say the driver of the crashed vehicle was pronounced dead on scene.

At this time, authorities say the full details of the incident are unclear.

The Florida Highway Patrol along with Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the crash incident.

While, The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office is taking lead on the criminal investigation.
