MADISON COUNTY, Fla. — A 26-year-old Tampa man wanted for molesting a young child has been arrested in Madison County after deputies intercepted a bus headed to Mexico on I-10.

Jorge Santiz-Patistan, 26, was arrested by the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

On Saturday at about 8:30 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a teletype from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office requesting deputies to try to locate a passenger bus going to Mexico.

MCSO said the information received indicated that Santiz-Patistan, who is wanted by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for the charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years of age, was believed to be a passenger on the bus.

A couple minutes later, deputies saw a bus matching the description provided traveling westbound on I-10 in Madison County. Deputies stopped the bus near the 246 mile-marker and boarded the bus.

Within minutes Santiz-Patistan was identified as a passenger and was arrested on the Hillsborough County warrant without incident and taken to the Madison County Jail to await transport back to Hillsborough County.
