A Tallahassee man has been arrested after deputies caught him hiding a gun under his shirt during a traffic stop.

Leon County deputies say they stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign in the area of Aenon Church Road and Highway 20 on Wednesday.

During the traffic stop, deputies got consent to search the vehicle.

While searching the vehicle, deputies noticed that a back seat passenger was shirtless but had a shirt lying right next to him.

The passenger was identified as 36-year-old Jason Sousa.

Deputies say under the shirt, they found a 9mm pistol along with brass knuckles inside Sousa's pocket.

During the investigation it was revealed that Sousa was also a convicted felon.

Based on the evidence, Sousa was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

He is being charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed weapon or device.
