JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Deputies are asking residents to be careful when answering their door for strangers after receiving a report about a man posing as a Medicaid worker.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s office says they have received a report of a Caucasian man between the age of 45-50 posing as a Medicaid/Medicare worker.

They say the man pulled up to a Grand Ridge home in a dark colored truck. The man didn't have any identification indicating that he was a Medicaid worker but entered the homeowners residence uninvited.

"We ask that people are vigilant when answering their door and if they don’t know who it is on the other side don’t open the door," deputies wrote on Facebook.

If you see suspicious people or vehicles, you are asked to call JCSO at 850-482-9648.
