FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities are searching for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap two 8-year-old girls from a home on St. George Island.
The Franklin County Sheriff's office shared a Facebook post from the mother of the two young girls on their Facebook page Thursday afternoon.
According to the girl's mother, the children were in their backyard on Wednesday around 5 p.m. when the suspect tried to get the girls to approach him.
"He told them he lived behind our house, which is only the fire station and alot of brush," the mother wrote.
The mother states that the suspect is a white man of slender build, with brunette hair, a scruffy beard, and a tattoo on his upper left arm.
FCSO says they have been in contact with the parents of the two young girls. The suspect has not been found and no further information has been provided on him.
