Liberty County deputies are currently investigating after a 17-year-old student made a threat against Liberty County High School.

In a Facebook post, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday night, they were made aware of a possible threat of violence towards Liberty County High School.

After finding out about the threat, deputies immediately began investigating. As of Wednesday morning, they were able to connect a 17-year-old student to the source of the threat.

Authorities say that student will be absent from the school on Wednesday.

LCSO said "deputies and school district officials will continue to investigate this incident and further information will be forthcoming. "

Officials say there is no continuing threat to the LCHS campus associated with this incident. As a precautionary measure, extra deputies will be on campus Wednesday.
