LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Two women are facing felony charges after assaulting a victim who was stopped at the intersection of Woodville Highway and Natural Bridge Road on Sunday.
On Sunday, LCSO deputies responded to the intersection of Woodville Highway and Natural Bridge Road in reference to fight.
When they arrived, deputies learned the victim was involved in a verbal argument with the suspects, 23-year-old Kelsey Moore and 20-year-old Destani Pilgrim, when the victim was attacked while stopped at an intersection.
As they investigated, deputies learned the victim and suspects were having an ongoing feud over money owed at a nearby convenience store l
When they all left the store in their respective vehicles, deputies say all parties made contact again while stopped at the intersection.
That's when deputies say Moore and Pilgrim got out of their car and approached the passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle. Moore and Pilgrim then reached inside the vehicle and began to hit the victim.
LCSO says Moore, armed with a knife, struck the victim in the back, causing a cut.
During the altercation, another person in the car with Moore and Pilgrim was hit by the victim’s vehicle and sustained minor injuries. The victim was also treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
After the incident, deputies found Moore and Pilgrim and both admitted to assaulting the victim. Both were arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.
Moore and Pilgrim have both been charged with burglary with a person battered. Additionally, Moore has been charged with aggravated battery.
