TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A 17-year-old was arrested after deputies found a gun and drug paraphernalia in a car they say he was driving without a license.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, deputies observed a 17-year-old juvenile driving with no valid license on Monday.

In addition, they say the teen was attaching a tag not assigned to the vehicle.

Deputies say a probable cause search of the vehicle revealed the teenager was in possession of the following items:

  • a stolen and loaded handgun ammunition
  • a digital set of scales with field test positive for methamphetamine residue and marijuana
  • drug paraphernalia kit commonly known as a "rig" used to inject illegal drugs.

The contraband was seized and the juvenile was arrested and taken into the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
