Dense fog advisory in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday for Big Bend, South Georgia

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for several counties in the Big Bend area and South Georgia.

The advisory will be in effect until 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Florida counties impacted include Leon, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla, Lafayette, Madison, Taylor and Jefferson.

The Georgia counties impacted include Ben Hill, Berrien, Colquitt, Cook, Grady, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes and Tift.

There will be hazardous driving conditions due to the low visibility.

Meteorologists say visibility will be less than 1/4 mile but may vary at each location.

When driving Tuesday morning, officials are urging everyone to remain at slow speed, use your headlights and leave plenty distance ahead of you.

They are also urging drivers to leave extra time for your morning commute and to use extreme caution while traveling.
