TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — What was once believed to be a deadly workplace incident at a tire repair shop on Lake Bradford Road in Tallahassee has now been ruled a homicide following an autopsy of the victim.

Thursday, the Tallahassee Police Department said further investigation into the incident that occurred on Sept. 1 at 2105 Lake Bradford Road led them the reclassify the incident as a homicide.

Just before 6 p.m. on Sept. 1, officers were called to the scene for an injured person. Once they arrived, they discovered an adult man bleeding from a critical injury, and he was transported to a local hospital where he passed away.

During the initial investigation, TPD said there were no signs of foul play and said it appeared to be a workplace accident.

However, through an autopsy, police say it was determined that the victim sustained a gunshot wound.

Due to Marsy's Law, TPD is not releasing the name of the person who was killed. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
