QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Highway Patrol says a 67-year-old man is dead after a crash on Pat Thomas Parkway in Quincy.

According to FHP, the accident happened at 3:35 p.m. on Monday in the 6800 block of Pat Thomas Parkway near Rocky Comfort Creek.

Troopers say the driver, Donnie Sloat of Quincy, was traveling in the southbound lane and for unknown reasons the car began to cross into the northbound lane.

Sloat then continued driving, eventually leaving the road and entered an wooded area full of trees.

Troopers say Sloat crashed into a tree before coming to a final stop.

FHP says he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, Gadsden County EMS, and Wetumpka Fire Department.

Authorities say it is pending in whether alcohol played a factor in the crash.


At least one person is dead after a crash on Pat Thomas Parkway in Quincy, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say it happened around 3:45 p.m. on Monday in the 6800 block of Pat Thomas Parkway near Rocky Comfort Creek.

A fatality has been reported in the crash though the number of cars involved in the crash is unknown at this time.

A roadblock is not being reported at this time.
