LEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida Highway Patrol says a 64-year-old woman is dead after the commercial tractor/trailer she was driving veered off I-10 into a tree.
According to the report, the tractor/trailer was traveling eastbound on I-10 in the outside lane near the 260 mile marker when, for an unknown reason, the driver veered off the roadway onto the south shoulder.
The vehicle then struck a large tree near a body of water, ejecting the driver, according to the report.
Paramedic's said the driver was deceased when they arrived.
The driver's name has not been released.

The Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene of a deadly crash on I-10EB that is partially blocking lanes between the Lee and Madison exits.
Troopers report that the crash happened around 12:41 p.m. on Thursday near mile marker 260.
At least one person has died in the crash. At this time, the right lane of I-10 EB is blocked due to the crash.
It's unclear at this time how many cars are involved in the crash.
