THOMASVILLE, Ga. — The power is back up and running and most streets are open following the severe weather in Thomasville Friday morning.

Crews came out just hours after the storm passed through Thomasville to pick up trees and restore power to the people in the community.

Things quickly went from calm to chaotic as the storm passed through the city. It didn't last very long and damage is minimal.

Immediately following the storm, the city reported close to 500 power outages and no injuries. Most happening near Pinetree Boulevard.

One neighbor in Thomasville said that the night before the storm, he decided to clear everything out of his yard to make sure that he would be as protected as possible.

"I've been through a number of hurricanes in South Carolina and Florida. I'm cautious about it, but they don't frighten me," said Mike Wager.
