WOODVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) — Firefighters say only minimal damage was done to a shed and meter box after reports of a wildland brush fire threatening multiple structures near the intersection of Old Plank Road and Natural Bridge Road in Woodville.

On Wednesday evening, the Tallahassee Fire Department with the Division of Forestry and the Woodville Volunteer fire department responded to the report of a wildland brush fire threatening 40 to 50 acres and burning towards three citizen’s residences.

Firefighters contained the fire, protecting the homes.

In total, six acres of brush burned.

No residents were displaced, and no injuries were reported on scene.

The cause of the fire was started by a falling tree limb that fell onto a power line.

The Tallahassee Fire Department would like to remind its citizens that during these dry/windy times, even minimal outside fires can quickly get out of hand.
