TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Adult shop Hustler Hollywood opened less than a month ago and people who live nearby are not happy about it's location.
People who live close to the shop say they don't understand why Hustler's was allowed to set up shop there in the first place.
The store opened on Sept. 13, despite some community objections.
It sits right across from Tapestry Senior Living in the area of North Monroe and Lake Shore in Tallahassee.
We spoke to one person who lives nearby about the shop's location. He says he's already had to have talks with his son about the shop and feels the store is out of place.
"It's on the edge of a neighborhood and it's right across from an assisted living community, you know it's completely out of place," said John Arnold.
The store is in compliance with the city's zoning. For some people in the community, it's still too close to nearby schools and recreation centers.
The store is just under a mile away from Sealey Elementary School. Right now the city has plans to meet with the Blueprint Committee.
City leaders want to talk about how close businesses like these should be to neighborhoods.
We did reach out to Hustler Hollywood and were told that the company would be sending us a statement, but so far we've not received it.
