Colquitt Regional Medical Center reports new positive COVID-19 case, bringing total to 3

MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) — Colquitt Regional Medical Center is reporting a third positive case of coronavirus in the county.

CRMC says the patient, like the first two the hospital reported on Monday, was tested at a testing location set-up on the Colquitt Regional campus but outside of the hospital.

The patient is not being treated at Colquitt Regional and is isolating at home.

To date, Colquitt Regional has performed 37 tests. Of those 37 tests, 9 were negative, 25 are pending, and 3 were positive.

"While these are the first cases identified in Colquitt County, there will likely be more. We urge the public to continue following CDC recommendations of social distancing, frequently washing hands, covering your coughs and sneezes, and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces/objects," hospital officials wrote.

Colquitt Regional says they actively monitoring this evolving situation through daily briefings and will continue to update the public with the latest information.
