The City of Tallahassee will observe the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 7.

Following are schedule changes for the week of September 6-12 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits (red week), StarMetro and the Animal Service Center.

Solid Waste Schedule Changes

During the holiday week, all residential garbage and recycling customers will receive service one day later than their regularly scheduled service (see changes below). The holiday will also impact red week customers for bulky items and yard waste pickup.

  • Monday customers ► Tuesday, Sept. 8
  • Tuesday customers ► Wednesday, Sept. 9
  • Wednesday customers ► Thursday, Sept. 10
  • Thursday customers ► Friday, Sept. 11
  • Friday customers ► Saturday, Sept. 12

As a service reminder, all household garbage must be placed inside your City-issued garbage container with a closed lid for service; extra bags or waste left loose beside the container will not be picked up. Customers should place yard waste and bulk items at the curb and roll their garbage and recycling containers to the curb for pickup no later than 6:30 a.m. on their regular collection day. Containers should be returned to the home the day after collection. For more information, visit Talgov.com/YOU or call 850-891-4968.
