TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Less than a week ago, a driver who had been shot and crashed into a utility pole near Keith and Kissimmee Streets in the Bond Community.

Incidents like that one, though, are becoming far too frequent for witnesses to just sit idly by. That's why several community members and city leaders came together Thursday afternoon to talk about what more can be done in the neighborhood.

Community leaders who were at the corner of Kissimmee and Keith Streets urged residents to "see something, say something, and do something," if there is suspicious activity in the area, even if it turns out to be nothing.

Residents were in agreement as many want to see the neighborhood back to the way it was, quiet and peaceful, without having to worry about crime and violence, especially for the children.

"I always pray, and I feel like the Lord will take care of them, but I still want this to be cleared up," said Ola Kennoen, a resident in Bond Community. "I would like for the community to be like it was years ago."

Members from the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Tallahassee Police Department, Moms Demand Action, and many city and county leaders were among those who came out Thursday.
