TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — People who live along Blountstown Street in Tallahassee say they're ready for change.

And the city agrees. The Tallahassee Commission voted to move forward, applying for a grant to add sidewalks to Blountstown Street between West Tharpe and West Tennessee Street.

Right now the road only has one block of paved sidewalk.

Other parts have worn paths where people are dodging cars as they drive by.

"I think its definitely been overlooked. We have kids and families without transportation that walk short distances," said Vicki Jones. "It's really unsafe and I think it's just overlooked."

3,000 feet of concrete sidewalk will cost more than $900,000.
