WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Starting Tuesday, any Wakulla High School student found with tobacco, including popular Juul e-cigarette vapes, will be issued a civil citation.

Wakulla High School, in conjunction with the Wakulla County Sheriff's office, will be begin issuing citations to any student found on campus with tobacco products, including Juuls. Civil citations will start being handed out Tuesday.

As far as what exactly the citations will mean for the students who receive them is unclear. We've reached out to the Wakulla County Sheriff's office to find out and are waiting to hear back.

When school officials made the announcement on Facebook, the response was largely positive with some parents suggesting that the citation entail mandatory community service hours or fines. Some parents also suggested searching buses and doing random pat down checks on students.
