TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — This week it's Children's Week at Florida's capitol.

It all kicked off on Sunday with The Hanging of the Hands in the capitol. Each set of hands represents a child who is impacted by the policy decisions made by the legislature.

Farm Share is just one organization that participates. They hope to bring awareness to the food insecurities within the Big Bend region.

"There's a big food desert in the Big Bend area," explained Emily Massau, the distribution coordinator for Farm Share Quincy. "There's a lot of areas that are lacking fresh fruits and vegetables and nutritious foods so were trying to bring awareness to that and let people know that were here."

Children's Week also screened a documentary Tuesday called "No Small Matter."
