TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Yet another Tallahassee business is closing down due to COVID-19 concerns.

Chi Chi's Cafe, known for its authentic Cuban cuisine, announced over the weekend that their doors would be officially closing on Monday, saying that the business may not "weather the COVID storm."

Owners wrote in a message posted to Facebook on Sunday that the decision was based on a variety of factors to include COVID-19, big dips in revenue, and staffing challenges.

"It just seems like too many unknown variables, too many unclear directives/guidelines and 'what ifs' to take on further health and fiscal risks on 'it might get better by 2021,'" the message read.

While its unclear what the future will hold for Chi Chi's, for now, owners have decided that the best course of action is to close up shop.

"We have truly been blessed," owners wrote in the message. "Please allow us a few days to process and grieve this all this with the family then we will keep you posted on Facebook & Instagram on any developments."
