RESTORED: Car crash knocks out power for at least 500 people in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Power has been restored, according to the City of Tallahassee, and the accident has been cleared.


A two-car accident has left more than 500 City of Tallahassee utility customers without power.

The crash happened at the corner of of Gadsden Street and Brevard Street. One of the cars ran into a power pole and broke one of the electric wires, causing a power outage in the surrounding around 8:45 a.m.

According to the City of Tallahassee power map, around 521 people are currently without power.

Workers are now repairing electric wires now.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. There doesn't appear to be injuries, but LCSO was unable to confirm that information.
