TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — FAMU is encouraging students and the community to get their flu shots.
The school launched its Calling The Shots initiative on Monday.
The goal is to spread awareness about the flu vaccine's importance, especially this year, as people protect themselves against COVID-19.
The goal is to see a campus-wide and county-wide increase in the number of shots given.
"The duo of influenza virus and COVID-19 can be deadly, especially in African American and Hispanic patients in addition to any other patients that are infected by COVID-19 and potential influenza virus," a spokesperson for FAMU said.
