CAIRO, Ga. (WTXL) — It’s been more than two weeks since tornadoes hit our area and people are still dealing with housing problems.

On Tuesday night, the city of Cairo helped residents with their needs at a town hall meeting.

Storm victims and others in the community got helpful information about insurance financial literacy and more.

There were representatives from seven different organizations answering questions.

The mayor hopes this meeting gives people the information they need to make decisions about next steps.

"I think at this point that is the one thing that after the storm you get the necessities such as canned goods or toiletries, but how to navigate the process you are often left on your own," said Mayor Booker T. Gainor.

The mayor was the moderator for the town hall.
