TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Florida State University Boosters Club says Burt Reynolds Hall is going to be handed over to the FSU Research Foundation.

National Boosters Club chair Bob Davis said the money they make will go to the athletics department.

Davis says boosters wanted to liquidate assets that aren't "core necessities."

The 60-unit building once housed football players. Now, it's regular student housing.

"The boosters are proactive to help athletics anyway we can," said Davis. "We're very much in the middle of our renaissance campaign and this was just an opportunity that was a win-win for FSU, the boosters and athletics."

Davis says the building will sell for $3.7 million.

Since they reached a deal together, that's all without real-estate commission, too.
