TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — For a Tallahassee Prep School, making sure COVID-19 doesn't come into their classrooms is a top priority.

Which is why each student and faculty member was tested for the virus ahead of the school year.

Brownsville Prepatory Institute teaches children age three to the third grade.

The Parent Teacher Organization partnered with Bond Community Health Clinic's mobile lab to get every student tested.

The school will open up to a little less than 50 students but parents and staff still want to be cautious.

"The idea just stems from the hearts of concerned parents regarding the safety of our children," said Scheri Bryant, the vice president of Brownsville PTO. "It just seemed that it would absolutely be an extra layer of security for our kids going back to schools and it was something that we could do as parents."

School opens next Monday.
