JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. — One summer time staple in Jackson County is finally reopening for the season.
Blue Springs Recreational Area in Marianna opened back up Thursday morning.
The summer opening was delayed by a month as crews worked to repair damage to the site caused by Hurricane Michael.
Jackson County Parks and Recycling Director, Rett Daniels, says that people from across the area have been eagerly awaiting the chance to visit.
"I try to emphasis that this is one of 30 properties that we take care. It's not like we can do all hands on deck, we had a lot of other things we had to deal with at one time," said Daniels. "We had to work it in and we're opening a month late, but better than never."
Blue Springs will be open from 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday until Labor Day.
