BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTLX) — Escorted by Bainbridge Public Safety, Santa came to town in the coronavirus Christmas spirit.

Santa kept a nice safe distance as he drove through neighborhoods on a fire truck, waving to everyone along his route.

Due to coronavirus, the City of Bainbridge was unable to hold its yearly Christmas Parade. So, they brought Santa to the community.

"I could tell by the excitement in their voices and the fact that they were excited to see Santa Claus, waving and jumping around, that it made a big difference in how they feel and they got to see Santa today," said Ryan Deen, the Bainbridge Assistant Fire Chief.

The early Christmas celebration will continue at the Boat Basin, where children will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus.
