BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) — A Bainbridge animal shelter is asking for the community's help in collecting supplies for animals in need.

The shelter is operating at maximum capacity, with over 200 animals, between cats and dogs.

Even though they are full, they do not turn any animal away.

They are asking for community support to help with supplies.

"We're always at max capacity for the most part but recently there has been a large influx coming in. Any given year we're expected to take in over 2,000 and recently we seen more numbers than usual," said Ashley White, Director of Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society.

Shelter directors say volunteers are welcome to come help clean and walk dogs to get them ready for adoption.
