TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Why did the baby gator cross the road? To bask in the front yard of a Tallahassee residence apparently.
The Leon County Sheriff's office says a baby alligator took its chances and crossed North Monroe Street from Lake Jackson on Friday, ending up in the front yard of a home on Cool Emerald Drive.
Unafraid of "helping a gator out," Deputy Sheffield captured the little gator. On Monday morning, the sheriff's office shared a video of the baby gator's release back into Lake Jackson on Facebook.
"The homeowners were extremely glad to have it removed from their yard and returned to the lake unharmed," the sheriff's office wrote in the post.
