Authorities working fatal crash on I-10 in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Fla.(WTXL) — Troopers say a 20-year-old man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after a crash on I-10 in Jefferson County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at the 221 mile marker of I-10 in Jefferson County.

FHP says Earle Kelly, 20, of Sarasota Kelly was traveling west when he lost control and veered into the eastbound lanes.

That's when his Honda Accord collided with another vehicle driven by Katherine Bowen, 27, of Pensacola.

Troopers say Kelly died on scene from injuries sustained during the crash.

Bowen was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

FHP says the crash remains under investigation.


Emergency crews are actively working a fatal crash at the 221 mile marker of I-10 in Jefferson County.

According to Jefferson County Fire Rescue, the crash occurred early Monday morning.

Not many details are known at this time, but traffic is slowing in this area.

Authorities are asking drivers to use caution when traveling near the area.
