(WTXL) — Studies have shown that the back seat of a car can more dangerous when it comes to head-on crashes and this can be even more dangerous when it comes to children.
In our effort to keep you and your child safe here are some tips to remember when using a car seat:
- Always select a car seat based on your child's size and age
- Always follow the manufacture's instructions
- And keep your child in a car seat for as long as possible or until they fit the car's height and weight requirements
"We want to make sure that they're safe. They're more people traveling on summer vacation and holidays you just want to make sure every occupant in the vehicle are safe," said Officer Rachelle Denmark with the Tallahassee Police Department. "It's the law, but it's also your life."
