TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Apalachicola National Forest will be closed Friday afternoon and all day Saturday due to severe weather occurring this weekend.
Officials say this closure includes but is not limited to trails, trailheads, picnic areas, campgrounds, dispersed areas and concession areas until further notice.
The Apalachicola National Forest says they are implementing these closures to preserve the safety of the public and its employees as part of its Action Plan for the 2019 Tropical/Hurricane Season.
Sites will re-open once storm damages are assessed and public safety concerns are mitigated.
The public is encouraged to follow media coverage and the National Weather Service for the latest updates and information on Tropical Storm Nestor.
