TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Some motivated people have been celebrating since early Thursday morning.
The 37th Annual Firecracker 5K and Fun Run kicked off at 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Hundreds of people came out to Cascades Park to get a little exercise in before their cook-outs Thursday afternoon.
Kids got in on the fun too with a bouncy-house and face painting.
"Oh! It's a wonderful opportunity on the 4th of July to enjoy everything we have here at Cascade Park just get a chance to have the community come out and family come out and have a healthy fun activity on a great day," said Jim Ledbetter who ran Firecracker 5K.
Organizers said they wanted to create a healthy and fun environment and encourage people to get active.
