CAIRO, Ga. (WTXL) — Cairo is getting into the holiday spirit. Thursday night is their annual Cairo Christmas Parade.

Everyone is invited to come enjoy the Christmas lights in downtown Cairo.

The Cairo-Grady Chamber of Commerce promises it'll be the best parade ever. There will be marching bands, beauty queens, horses, decorated floats, and of course -- Santa Claus.

"It has been for 72 years that we know of the sort of kickoff so the Cairo Chirstmas parade kicks off Christmas for our county and it just sparks from that and everybody seems to be happy and in the spirit right after that."

The parade kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce (961 N Broad St, Cairo, GA 39828).

It continues down Broad Street, ending at the First Methodist Church. Of course, you'll want to get there plenty early to get a good seat.
