JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — An Amazon facility will soon be opening in Jackson County.
According to Zac Gilmore, the Director of Business Development at Jackson EDC, Amazon will be opening a last-mile delivery facility in Marianna. The facility will open at 3529 Russell Road, roughly half a mile from Marianna K-8 School.
According to Amazon's website, in these "last-mile delivery centers," customer orders are transported to the facility, sorted and loaded into trucks for delivery to customers.
Gilmore told ABC 27 on Tuesday that Amazon is currently working on construction at the location and is targeted to open the facility by the end of January/beginning of February.
ABC 27 has also reached out to Amazon to learn more about the number of jobs the project is expected to bring to the area. We're still waiting to hear back.
