VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) — Moody Air Force Base confirms that a Air Force plane made an emergency landing on the base Tuesday.
They say an Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II assigned to the 75th Fighter Squadron made an emergency landing at the base without its landing gear extended.
Before the emergency landing, the aircraft was conducting a routine training mission when the pilot declared an in-flight emergency.
The aircraft only had one person aboard and landed on the primary runway. The pilot was not injured and evaluated by flight surgeons before release.
Moody AFB says an Interim Safety Board will investigate the incident.
