19-year-old Tallahassee woman dead after I-10 crash in Gadsden County

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — One person is dead and another was injured in a crash that happened on I-10 in Gadsden County late Wednesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said in a release that a sedan was driving westbound on I-10 near mile marker 172 around 11:35 a.m. when the car drove across the median and hit the front left of a semi-truck that was pulling a trailer in the outside eastbound lane. The car then spun and the back of the car hit the front of an SUV that was driving in the inside eastbound lane.

The driver of the sedan, a 19-year-old woman from Tallahassee was killed in the incident. The passenger of the SUV, a 71-year-old man from Largo, Fla. sustained minor injuries. The drivers of the SUV and the semi-truck were not injured in the incident.

As of 4:30 p.m., the inside eastbound lane is still closed on I-10 near mile marker 172.
