TPD: Suspect arrested in deadly convenience store shooting on Alabama Street

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a convenience store shooting that left one dead and two injured on Friday evening.

The Tallahassee Police Department says the shooting happened at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Friday in the 1400 block of Alabama Street.

TPD arrived at the Time Saver convenience store at approximately 6:15 p.m, located at 1412 Alabama Street, in response to reports of multiple people being shot.

Responding officers found two victims at the scene.

A third victim had fled the scene and was located at Brevard Street and Old Bainbridge Road.

After the shooting, all three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Sadly, one of the victims in the shooting passed away from his injuries, according to police.

The deceased individual has been identified as a 40-year-old man.

TPD says the other two victims are young men, ages 18 and 21, and are expected to recover.

After investigating, police have arrested and charged one of the involved suspects.

Police say 19-year-old La’Darrius Campbell is being charged with homicide and two counts of attempted homicide in connection to the shooting

The investigation is still ongoing at this time, and TPD says further information will be released when it is available.

Leon County Sheriff's Office assisted with a K-9 unit.
