VALDOSTA, Ga. — A 19-year-old was arrested in Valdosta after breaking into multiple vehicles and stealing property.

Leonard Shuman was arrested by the Valdosta Police Department on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, at about 10:17 p.m., E-911 received a call for police service in the 1400 block of North Saint Augustine Road. According to VPD, the caller stated he witnessed Shuman illegally enter a vehicle in an attempt to steal things from inside the car.

When officers arrived on scene, they received a detailed description of Shuman from the caller and began searching the area. Within minutes they found Shuman sitting in a stolen vehicle.

As the investigation continued, Shuman was found to have stolen property that had been reported stolen out of two different vehicles in the area.

Shuman was taken into custody and transported to the Lowndes County Jail without incident. Warrant applications were presented to the Magistrates Court of Lowndes County and were signed on Shuman to face two felony counts of theft by entering auto.
