TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) — A 16-year-old who has been charged as an adult for attempted murder is now facing 15 additional adult charges after a shooting and crime spree on Capstone Road.
Elvonte Sperdutos, 16, has already been charged with attempted second degree murder in connection to the shooting and burglaries that happened near the 2500 block of Capstone Road on December 28, 2019.
Now, the teen will face 15 additional adult charges: Five counts of burglary, seven counts of attempted burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Tallahassee police say a woman was in her garage when she noticed someone trying to break into her car.
When the suspect realized the woman had spotted him, police say he shot at her twice and ran away. Fortunately, no one was injured during the shooting.
During the investigation, police was discovered that a group of teens were involved in six burglaries. Investigators spoke to one of the suspected teens who said Sperdutos stole a stolen black Ford F-250 and used it to drive around and commit burglaries.
Through various pieces of evidence and interviews, investigators determined that Sperdutos was the burglar and shooter in the Capstone Road incident.
Based on the evidence, Sperdutos was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for attempted felony murder and burglary of a conveyance.
After further investigation, the State Attorney's Office ordered that Sperdutos be transferred into the Leon County Detention Facility.
As of Thursday, Sperdutos is being held in jail without bond for attempted second degree murder, burglary of a conveyance and shooting into or within a building.
