TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — There is $15,000 in grants up for grabs for South Georgia and North Florida educators, thanks to a new program by local McDonald's owners/operators.
The four grants being offered through Golden Grants, are available to any hard working teacher, mentor, or adult who helps children learn, grow, and create.
Raphael Vazquez, who owns 17 McDonald's restaurants in the Tallahassee area, says educators need to be celebrated, especially during COVID-19, when money for supplies may be tight.
"I know first-hand a lot of the hard work that they do, especially during this time with COVID and virtual learning, so anything we can do to help," said Vazquez. "I mean, if you're a business and you're fortunate, you need to give back, and this is one way we chose to give back."
Applications will be accepted through November 29. If you would like to apply for one of the four grants, click here.
